100-Year-Old Malden Resident Celebrates 90 Years in the City

Mary Stella Motzkin has lived in Malden since 1927. Here's her secret to long life.

Mary Stella Motzkin moved to Malden in 1927. She was 10.

Motzkin celebrated her 100th birthday on February 28, and Mayor Gary Christenson and Police Chief Kevin Molis joined her at her home. Their gift? A citation in recognition of a century of life.

Motzkin lived in Malden with her late husband Joseph and raised three children here, Joseph, Suzanne, and James.
