3 Malden-Area Orange Line Stop Lots Seeing Price Increase

A two-way trip plus parking could cost as much as $14.50.

MALDEN, MA — The three primary Orange Line stops Malden commuters use - Malden Center, Oak Grove, and Wellington - are among those seeing price increases for their parking lots. The MBTA announced it will increase the price of parking in many of its most popular lots, though it is decreasing the prices of many lots for weekend parking. The price increases will take place Aug. 1.

The most stark increases will be at Oak Grove and Wellington, both of which will start charging $9 - up from the current $6. The weekend prices will drop to $3 at Oak Grove and $4 at Wellington.

It currently costs $6 to park in Malden Center. That price will shoot to $7.50 come Aug. 1. The weekend prices will drop to $3.

A two-way train ticket (non-Charlie Card) and parking at Oak Grove or Wellington on a weekday would cost $14.50. It would cost $13 at Malden Center.
