Adult Companion for an adventurous young musician with disabilities

Job Description:A young man with disabilities (blindness, Autism Spectrum Disorder and more) is looking for assistance in his daily activities. This young man is a professional musician (Musical Savant). He loves dancing, sports and recreation. He needs a companion whenever he travels outside of his house: to his day-time gigs, dance classes, adaptive sport programs, etc. He also needs help at home with small daily living tasks and searching for job opportunities, which in his case are music gigs. Previous experience in teaching or working with dependent people (children, elderly, or individuals with disabilities) is a plus, but not required. This is a part-time position with flexible hours. The planning of the activities occurs with your participation and consideration of your availability. The prospective employer is looking for 5 to 20 hours of your time 1-3 days per week. Some evening and weekend hours could be requested. Compensation is $14.00 per hour during first 3-months trial period, $15.00 per hour afterwards. This position is funded by DDS (Department of Developmental Services)

Job requirements: A candidate for this position must be mature while young at heart, physically fit, highly organized, punctual and responsible person. The employer needs your help in decision-making and social interaction with other people. The job requires more mentoring than physical aid, but occasional lifting up to 25lb might be required. The applicant must be a patient and caring person. The responsibilities assume some teaching and a lot of supervision over the man's actions. Yet, for an open-minded, energetic and adventurous applicant, who loves people and music, the job should be fun and feel more like just being a friend to this hiring gentleman. The young man is calm, friendly and very agreeable. He has positive attitude towards life.

Driver's license is a big plus.
