Malden Youth Soccer runs co-ed intown leagues for children of all skills, under 6 (U6) and under 9 (U9), birth dates 1/1/05 - 4/15/10. Both groups practice and play at Pine Banks, U6 on Saturdays and U9 on Sundays. Both age groups learn ball handling skills, like dribbling, passing and shooting. The younger players typically move in clumps, but by U9 they're learning the rules of the game and starting to pass to one another. We especially encourage girls to register.
Uniforms are provided to all players, including socks, shorts and shirt. All you need to have are shin guards, appropriate shoes (cleats optional), and a size 3 ball. We encourage parents to become coaches.
