MALDEN, MA — Two people were transported to the hospital in the aftermath of a motor vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon.
Police and emergency vehicles responded to the scene at the New England Coffee Cafe and Store on Charles Street to find a gray SUV and black sedan severely damaged. The driver of the sedan was seen being removed from his vehicle and placed on a stretcher to be taken to an ambulance. The sedan was stuck horizontally between the other vehicle and a tractor-trailer truck, which also sustained damage.
Detective Stephen Munyon told Patch that the coffee business was struck by one of the vehicles, and that there is no longer a traffic safety concern in the area.
The cause of the crash is not yet known.
