EVERETT, MA — Nine students were taken to the hospital after a school bus crash Thursday afternoon, according to the Everett Police Department.
Police and emergency services responded to the corner of Broadway and Langdon Street before 4 p.m. to the collision involving the small bus carrying 11 Devens School students and a black sedan. The back of the bus appeared to have hit a brick building. According to Police Chief Paul Strong and Superintendent of Schools William Hart, none of the students were seriously injured and were hospitalized only as a precaution. All parents have been notified. The incident has affected the flow of traffic on Route 99.
The cause of the crash is now under investigation. No other information is currently available.
The Devens School is a public special education institution located at 22 Church St. The student body is made up of only about 50 students between the ages of 5 and 22.
