MALDEN, MA — Forestdale Park has been named a 2026 Best Assisted Living community by U.S. News & World Report, earning recognition as part of the publication's annual Best Senior Living ratings.
The Malden senior living community was among the highest-rated assisted living providers based on feedback from residents, family members, friends and staff. U.S. News said its ratings evaluate communities on factors including dining, activities, safety and the overall value of care provided to residents.
According to U.S. News, the rankings are based on more than 540,000 consumer surveys, with only top-performing communities receiving a "Best" designation.
Forestdale Park offers a variety of social and recreational programs for residents, including movie nights, educational lectures, art classes and book clubs. The community also emphasizes dining options and provides around-the-clock caregiver support.
"Whether seeking an active independent lifestyle or specialized care, U.S. News' 2026 Best Senior Living ratings help families navigate these options by identifying communities where residents and their families reported the highest levels of satisfaction," U.S. News Senior Living Director Liz Pearce said in a statement.
Located on Forest Street at the site of the former McFadden Manor nursing center, Forestdale Park opened in 2018 as a Volunteers of America Massachusetts senior living community. In addition to assisted living services, the community offers independent living apartments and a Compass Memory Support Neighborhood for residents living with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. The memory care program is affiliated with the Boston University Alzheimer's Disease Research Center and focuses on research-based programming designed to support cognitive health.
The community has also earned a Purple Flag for Dementia Accreditation, a designation recognizing organizations that meet best practices for dementia care, and has received SAGECare's Platinum credential for LGBTQ+ cultural competency training.
