2 Homes Damaged In Malden Mobile Home Park Fire: Report

This Labor Day blaze took the lives of two pet rabbits.

Two homes were damaged after a fire broke out at a mobile home park Monday morning, according to a report from WCVB NewsCenter 5.

The fire started just before 10 a.m. at Town Line Estates on 685 Broadway before spreading from one mobile home to an adjacent residence. A woman who escaped the home where the fire originated told firefighters that she heard a bang before smoke and flames filled the residence. Her two rabbits did not survive.

A husband and wife were able to safely escape the neighboring home. The mobile home where the fire originated was considered a total loss, while firefighters were able to save the adjacent residence.

Crews took approximately an hour to get the difficult blaze under control. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
