Officers also helped execute a federal search warrant at his Malden home before he was taken to federal court in Boston, with further details to come from federal authorities.
2. Malden To Celebrate Hispanic Heritage With Downtown Festival (patch.com) — Malden residents are invited downtown this Saturday for the Malden Hispanic Heritage Festival at City Hall Plaza, featuring live music by Primera Clase, traditional dance, food, art, and family activities. Organized by the North Shore Hispanic Association and supported by the city's Community Connections Grant Program, the event also offers a marketplace for local entrepreneurs and community organizations during National Hispanic Heritage Month.
3. Volleyball Recap: Lynn Classical Extends Winning Streak Against Malden (maxpreps.com) — Malden High's volleyball team fell 3–0 to Lynn Classical on Monday, dropping the Tornados to 1–1 on the young season. Malden school worker arrested over federal child sexual exploitation allegations (nbcboston.com) — A staff member connected to Malden Public Schools' AlphaBEST afterschool program has been arrested on federal child sexual exploitation charges, and is now barred from all school facilities. District leaders say there's no indication local students were involved but are cooperating fully with investigators, while Malden police assisted federal agents in Tuesday morning's arrest.
5. Greater Boston Communities Offer Free Trees to Residents This Fall (wror.com) — Malden residents are eligible this fall for a free shade tree through a Mystic River Watershed Association program aimed at cooling neighborhoods and cutting home energy costs. By signing up online, you can help expand Malden's tree canopy, improve air quality, manage stormwater, and make local streets more comfortable during increasingly hot summers.
