Concerned people are still sending me photos of the damaged ceilings inside the Linden School. Last week’s rainstorm brought fresh problems and renewed anxiety to staff/faculty, student and parents concerned about the much needed repairs to our schools.
I want to assure everyone that help is on the way. The wheels of government don’t always work quickly, but now our concerns are being addressed. With Councilor Sica from Ward 8 on our side, good things are happening. I personally still have two children attending that school(Linden). Hopefully, from this, a more comprehensive dialog concerning school maintenance/repairs will evolve for all of the various public schools throughout our city.
I want everyone to know that I will continue to follow up, though I can’t say anything definitive yet. I am watching the process play out and will convey concrete(not hearsay) developments in the move to maintain our school buildings.
The above latest photos were taken last week on March 27, during the most recent rain storm. I’ll also post the prior link to last Fall’s water video inside the school. Last December’s video, that a concerned citizen sent me, was the wake up call that I needed, because like almost everyone else in our town, I had no idea how bad things had gotten.
With a little prayer and a whole lot of vigilance, we will make our schools safe.
