The Gallery@57 is pleased to present Depersonalization, a LIMELIGHT Wall Art exhibition featuring new works by Boston-area artist Caitlin “Caity” Serva.
Using acrylic and mixed media, Serva creates contemporary realist paintings that explore identity, perception, and the relationship between humans and animals. Her thought-provoking work invites viewers to reflect on the emotional distance that can exist between ourselves and the world around us.

What causes people to feel disconnected from one another? Why do social and political divides seem so difficult to overcome? And what can ordinary people do to build stronger connections in their communities?
The Divides Project invites you to an evening of thoughtful conversation, shared food &amp; drink, and community-building at Idle Hands Craft Ales in Malden.
In a time when division often dominates headlines and social media feeds, this event offers something different: an opportunity to sit down with neighbors, listen to diverse perspectives, and explore practical ways to strengthen understanding across differences.
Together, we'll examine some of the forces that contribute to division while also highlighting the relationships, conversations, and creative approaches that can help bring people together.
No special expertise is required—just curiosity, respect for others, and a willingness to participate.

The Fellowship Committee will be hosting a traditional New England Community Folk Dance for all ages and abilities, with live music. Come celebrate the summer with a family-friendly "barn dance" in this beautiful hall. For anyone with young children and those wanting extra instruction, we will start at 6:30 p.m. but instruction for novices will continue throughout the evening for each of the easy, fun dances (squares, waltzes, Virginia Reel, circles, and more). Cammy Kaynor will teach and prompt the dances. Please feel free to come listen to the music, try some steps on the dance floor, try playing one of the tunes, and socialize. Bring a neighbor or friend - there is always room for more. This is a FREE event! (donations are welcome but not required).

Join us for English Country Dancing this Sunday afternoon, 3-5PM in the Baystate Cohousing unit on Pleasant St. in Malden Center. This event is FREE! (voluntary donations welcome) I play the melody on my fiddle while teaching and prompting. Our focus is dances of the 17th century that were brought to New England by the colonists. For any who wish to try playing the melodies, sheet music is available and playing by ear or improvisation are encouraged. These baroque tunes make one want to dance! The dances are accessible and the dancers are mostly newcomers so, don't expect a "performance" but rather a nice participatory community event for all ages and abilities.

The Downsize for Diversity program was originally started by the 501(c)(3) organization, the Lincoln METCO Coordinating Committee, in Lincoln, MA, and raised $170,000 from 2017 to 2022. This was invested in a policy-driven endowment fund and has earned over $50,000 in investment income.
Since moving to the Boston Bridges Initiative in 2023 Downsize for Diversity has netted over $137,000 in art sales.

Celebrating over 90 years of excellence in fashion education, The School of Fashion Design is the only educational institution in New England dedicated exclusively to the study of fashion design. SFD provides students with a solid foundation in apparel design and construction, and the skills required for a successful career in fashion. Our technical Certificate program is taught by experts in the field of fashion design. Students may take courses toward the Certificate or on a class-by-class basis to fill professional education interests. For creatives and textile arts enthusiasts, SFD offers workshops in various fiber arts such as weaving, lace making, embroidery, millinery, upcycling, and more. As an SFD student, you will join a diverse community of emerging designers. Our studios are filled with recent high school graduates, students from nearby colleges enriching their education with fashion, and working professionals embarking on a new career path. SFD faculty and students are active partners in our local community, collaborating regularly with organizations and businesses through internships, exhibitions, field trips, and special events. Our reputation for excellence is on display each time our students show their work at fashion shows and exhibits throughout the year. With an SFD Certificate in Fashion Design, our alumni have enjoyed fashion careers with Adidas, Coldwater Creek, J.
