Mystic Valley Aging Services (MVAS) presents Resiliency in Motion, an active wellness class for people living with dementia or Alzheimer’s Disease and their family caregivers.
MVAS developed this six-session class to strengthen both physical health and emotional well-being. Resiliency in Motion will be led by Coach Julio Salado, a certified fitness professional, alongside dementia-trained support staff from Mystic Valley Aging Services.
Resiliency in Motion will be offered Thursdays, Nov. 5 through Dec. 17, at noon, at Malden Senior Center, 7 Washington St. There is no cost to attend and participants do not need to live in Malden. To register, contact Paula Buccilli at pbuccilli@mves.org or 781-388-2319. (No class on Thanksgiving.)
Each session will begin with separate warm-up activities for caregivers and participants before coming together for a joint class designed to build balance, strength, mobility, and confidence. This approach provides caregivers with peer support while creating opportunities for shared connection.
Resiliency in Motion combines evidence-based activity with dementia support, promoting healthy aging and social engagement for people living with dementia and those who care for them. This program is supported by a grant from the I’m Still Here Foundation.
