Christensen, Emerald Tops in the DFD Memorial 5K Run/Walk
Event helps to provide scholarships for Malden High School Band Members
The Second Annual Donna Froio DeLena (DFD) Memorial 5K Run/Walk was held on Sunday, September 23, starting from the Forestdale School in Malden. Over 50 people took part in the event to raise money for the Donna Froio DeLena Memorial Scholarship Fund at Malden High School.
Malden Mayor Gary Christensen, Don Swain and Representative Steve Ultrino led the way in the Men’s division, while Elizabeth Emerald, Amanda Becker and Veronica Froio topped the Women’s leader board. Clear skies and mild temperatures aided the participants in making the Run/Walk a success.

The Donna Froio DeLena Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 2016. The Fund provides scholarships to deserving Malden High School Band members, and is open to all Senior Class Members of the Malden High School Band.
The Donna Froio DeLena Memorial Scholarship is given in loving memory of Donna, Malden High School Class of 1980, Band Member (clarinet) and Band President.
