The game has all the fanfare of a major league all-star game where state and local government officials, the Malden Police and Fire Department Color Guards, Wally the Green Monster, Blades the Bruins Bear, and hundreds of fans come together to cheer on these young athletes. This year the program has grown and more than 75 participants from Medford, Malden, Wakefield, Lynn, Billerica and other surrounding cities will be taking part. Event sponsors include Pizzeria Regina, Teamsters Local 25, Wegmans, Kelly’s Roast Beef, and Xerox.
“I commend Ron Giovino and all the volunteers for their commitment and hard work in making these games possible,” said Mayor Gary Christenson. “The athletes are truly an inspiration to us all!”
