Clark Statement on Arizona Decision Upholding Near-Total Abortion Ban

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Democratic Whip Katherine Clark (MA-5) released the following statement after the Arizona Supreme Court upheld an 1864 law banning nearly all abortions.

“Today, Donald Trump and MAGA extremists' dark vision of a near-total abortion ban became reality for Arizonans. The freedom to control your own body is gone. Survivors of rape and incest will no longer have access to abortion care. Women suffering through miscarriages and fetal abnormalities will have nowhere to turn. Politicians will decide who can receive health care instead of patients and doctors.

“We are at a crossroads. Either we bring freedom back to Arizona, Alabama, and every state living under an abortion ban, or Trump's reproductive tyranny will become law in every state in the union.”
