Decomposing Body Found in Everett, Homicide Investigation Underway

Police say a man's body "in an advanced state of decomposition" was found over the weekend.

Authorities are investigating an apparent homicide in Everett after finding a body "in an advanced state of decomposition," the Middlesex District Attorney's Office said Monday.

The landlord of an Oakland Avenue apartment found the body of Francis Brescia, 65, of Everett during a well-being check over the weekend. The landlord told police.

The Office of the Medical Examiner said the death was a homicide.

The victim has not yet been identified "to protect the integrity of the investigation," the DA's office said.
