Again this year, the Gentle Giant Rowing Club (www.gentlegiantrowing.org) is holding its summer crew camp for students entering grades 6 through 12, Monday, July 11 though Saturday, July 23, 1:30-5:30 p.m., at the Malden boathouse (356 Commercial Street, behind the Malden DPW). Crew coaches and MHS teachers Sarah Jones and Shauna Campbell will hold the summer learn to row program, as well as conduct a refresher course for returning campers to improve the skills they acquired last year. Members of the Malden High School and GGRC youth crew teams will be on hand to assist.
The swim test is Wednesday, July 6, 8:00 p.m. at the Malden YMCA. Not signed up yet? No problem. Interested students and their parents can complete an application for the camp (fee $20) at the swim test, which takes only a few minutes.
