Community Dinner at Valle Restaurant on April 10
The fifth in our series of community dinners explores the cuisine of Mexico at Valle Restaurant, located at 115 Exchange St in Malden. The dinner will take place on Tuesday, April 10 at 7:00pm. The cost is $13 and does not include tax, tip, or beverages other than that noted below.
Mexican native Emelina Flores owns and manages Valle. Chef Walter Canales describes Valle as a Mexican Grill, with some influences from Central America (Canales himself is Salvadoran). The cuisine of Mexico is highly refined, reflecting the cooking of the Native Americans who inhabited Mexico before the Spanish colonization, and the Spanish influences brought over by the conquistadores, coupled with the bounty of local product. Mexican cuisine boasts many highly original regional cuisines, and such complex and glorious sauces as Mole, a specialty of Oaxaca. The tasting menu featured at this dinner, on Tuesday April 10 at 7:00, will focus on classic Northern Mexican dishes.
