From 10:00 am to 12:00 noon, families are invited to join in a fun-filled event at the Senior Center at 7 Washington Street. Malden’s Youth Meets Malden’s Leaders will offer residents a chance to meet City Councillors, School Committee Members and Mayor-elect Gary Christenson for a question and answer session, story time, refreshments and entertainment by some of Malden’s most talented residents. At 12:00 all are invited to MATV where outgoing and incoming city officials will be interviewed live on location.
The formal part of the Inaugural Ceremony will begin at 6:00 pm at Malden High School’s newly renovated Jenkins Auditorium in the Brunelli Building located at 77 Salem Street. This is a free event and open to the public. Entertainment for the evening will include the Philadelphie Haitian American Church Drum Corp, Wah Lum Kung Fu & Tai Chi Academy, Malden High School’s Band and Choral Art Society and the National Anthem as performed by Jeantilus Gedeus.
