Neighborhood Meeting Regarding Proposed Redevelopment Option for Emerson School
NEIGHBORHOOD MEETING TO DISCUSS PROPOSED REDEVELOPMENT OPTION FOR THE EMERSON SCHOOL ON HIGHLAND AVENUE
Dear Residents and Members of the Abutting Business Community:
You are invited to attend a neighborhood meeting on Thursday, October 4, 2012 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. at the Emerson School at 238 Highland Avenue to hear more about the proposed redevelopment plans for this facility.

Presenters at the meeting will be members of the Mystic Valley Regional Charter School, who will share their plans for preserving and renovating the site for overflow space for its high school programs. Other presenters will include staff members from the Malden Redevelopment Authority, who were tasked by the City of Malden to determine what would be the best re-use for this public property. Mayor Gary Christenson will also be at the meeting.
The proposed redeveloper will unveil the renovation plans along with plans to improve the exterior of the property including a substantial upgrade to the landscaping. You are invited to hear the presentation and ask your questions so that an informed decision can ultimately be made by the City of Malden for the re-use of this site. Any decision to convey this property to another owner is contingent on the approval of the full Malden City Council.
