Former Superintendent Holland Dies

Dr. George Holland, the former Superintendent of Malden Public Schools, has died, the City of Malden Facebook announced.

Holland was superintendent from 1984-2000. He was a 1955 graduate of Malden High School, where has been inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame.

"Dr. Holland leaves a legacy of a strong contribution to the lives of so many students of the Malden Public School system," the Facebook post says. "He is a shining example of how you can achieve great success and humbly return to your home town bringing all you have learned back to the community to inspire future generations to do the same."
