Gov. Healey Kicks Off Earth Week With Tree Planting In Malden

MALDEN, MA – Governor Maura Healey kicks off Earth Week with a tree planting event in Malden on Tuesday with local youth as part of the Greening the Gateway Cities program.

The tree planting in honor of Earth Week is set to take place April 18 at 11:30 a.m. at the Ferryway School, located at 150 Cross St. in Malden, MA. The event will take place off of Walnut Street near the school parking lot.

Healey will be joined by Energy and Environmental Affairs Secretary Rebecca Tepper, Mayor of Malden Gary Christenson, and Undersecretary of Environmental Justice & Equity María Belén Power.

The Malden event is the governor's second stop of the day. She begins the day at the Wexner Commons in Harvard Kennedy School for the Bloomberg Center for Cities Opening Celebration.
