Holiday Music from Nordic Countries

Catch a glimpse of the irresistible atmosphere of a Nordic Yule with a Lucia procession and holiday favorites from Northern Europe.

On Sunday, December 13, 2015 at 4pm, the Nordic Vocal Ensemble Stämbandet will offer an afternoon of songs celebrating the December traditions and lore that come from Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Iceland. Held at the St. Paul’s Parish of Malden, 26 Washington, this glimpse into the irresistible atmosphere of a Nordic Yule is the perfect antidote for the darker and colder days of winter.

The concert features a traditional Lucia procession of lights, folk favorites sung in beautiful multi-layered arrangements with occasional instrumental accompaniment, candle-light, and a guest appearance by Tomten (Swedish version of Santa). A reception and spread of traditional Scandinavian food and drink will follow the concert.

Advance discounted tickets are available online until 7am December 13th at http://nordicjul.bpt.me/: $12 for adults, $8 for seniors and students. Children under 13 are free with online purchases. As a special bonus, those who purchase online tickets will receive a Boda Borg discount coupon.
