School of Fashion Design

Celebrating over 90 years of excellence in fashion education, The School of Fashion Design is the only educational institution in New England dedicated exclusively to the study of fashion design. SFD provides students with a solid foundation in apparel design and construction, and the skills required for a successful career in fashion. Our technical Certificate program is taught by experts in the field of fashion design. Students may take courses toward the Certificate or on a class-by-class basis to fill professional education interests. For creatives and textile arts enthusiasts, SFD offers workshops in various fiber arts such as weaving, lace making, embroidery, millinery, upcycling, and more. As an SFD student, you will join a diverse community of emerging designers. Our studios are filled with recent high school graduates, students from nearby colleges enriching their education with fashion, and working professionals embarking on a new career path. SFD faculty and students are active partners in our local community, collaborating regularly with organizations and businesses through internships, exhibitions, field trips, and special events. Our reputation for excellence is on display each time our students show their work at fashion shows and exhibits throughout the year. With an SFD Certificate in Fashion Design, our alumni have enjoyed fashion careers with Adidas, Coldwater Creek, J. Jill, New Balance, PUMA, Ralph Lauren, Talbots, Timberland, TJX Companies, and more. Our alumni are designers and costumers for stage and screen, while others have found success launching their own label. Our varied class levels and flexible schedules are designed to meet the needs and profiles of all students. This is not a traditional concert. It’s an immersive experience designed to transport you from the moment the lights dim until the final encore.
The night features Little Miss and the Boom’s signature blend of swing, blues, jazz, and modern vintage favorites, presented in a carefully crafted theatrical production that moves from intimate and sultry to playful, exhilarating, and unforgettable.
Adding to the evening, acclaimed burlesque artist Pixie Payne joins the cast for an exclusive performance created especially for The Velvet Hour, seamlessly woven into the night’s story.
Whether you’re dressed in vintage glamour or simply looking for an extraordinary night out, you’ll find yourself part of an experience where the audience isn’t just watching the show, they’re inside it.
