How Did Malden React to Potential Halloween Change?

Legislation has been reportedly introduced that would change the date of Halloween, fixing it on the last Saturday of every October.
The immediate general consensus from Patch readers seems to be - phooey. Malden was no different.
On our Malden Patch Facebook, the story got the dreaded angry emoji, along with a bunch of feedback opposing the idea.

Keep in mind that Internet commenters often only speak up when they oppose an idea, not support it (take it from us.) But even still, the pushback was palpable.
Several comments suggested the legislators find something better to do with their time.

The comment with the most likes took an "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" approach.
"Leave it alone" or "leave it be" was in five separate comments, some louder than others.
Personally, I think it's great when something is examined to make it better. And as a kid, I looked forward to weekend Halloweens more than weekday ones. But come on... Halloween is Oct. 31. Deal with it. And leave it alone.
