How Malden Voted In The 2020 Democratic Primary

Joe Biden may have pulled off an unexpected victory in Massachusetts, but he was not the favorite among Democratic voters in Malden.

MALDEN, MA — Unlike across the rest of the state, Joe Biden was not the favorite among Democratic voters in Malden on Super Tuesday. Biden finished a close second behind Bernie Sanders, who received 3,704 votes to Biden's 2,801. Elizabeth Warren landed third among Democratic voters with 2,297 votes, echoing her finish across the rest of the state.

In the Republican primary, President Trump received 942 votes, handily beating challenger Bill Weld, who got 84 votes.

Voter turnout was 35 percent, according to the registrar's office, higher than the 27 percent that showed up to Malden's own election in November.
