Library's "Local History Room" To Re-Open Tonight
The original building, first built in 1885, has been closed for renovations for years.

For the last several years, the original building of the Malden Public Library has been closed to the public for renovations and restoration. The building, originally constructed in 1885 and the last of the libraries designed by noted archictect H.H. Richardson, currently houses, among other items, the Local History Collection of the Malden Public Library.
Researchers interested in Malden history are welcome to come Monday evenings 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Wednesday afternoons 2 to 4 p.m.
Please understand as the material in this collection is unique, access wil be limited to researchers 18 and over who have or are willing to apply for a Malden/Boston or Chelsea Public Library card and wil agree to the policies of access.
