Longtime Everett Superintendent Placed On Administrative Leave
Fred Foresteire, who has been the superintendent for 30 years, is facing sexual harassment and discrimination claims.

EVERETT, MA — Fred Foresteire, the school superintendent in Everett for three decades, was placed on paid administrative leave as sexual harassment and discrimination claims are investigated.
The Everett School Committee voted Monday night to allocate $50,000 for an independent investigation of the claims, one of which was made by the former Everett Public Schools clerk.
"I believe the school committee took the appropriate action tonight by voting to place the superintendent on administrative leave pending a thorough investigation of these allegations," a statement from Mayor Carlos DeMaria's office said.
