MALDEN, MA — Various parks throughout Malden will have different Fourth of July Celebrations. The separate festivities are divided by city wards.

Ward 1 and 2

9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Activities are at Devir Park and include:

  • Obstacle Course, Trackless Train, Bounce House, Slide, Water Slide, Bungee Run and more
  • Pony Rides and Train Rides
  • Competitive races
  • Free Food - Hotdogs, Sausages, Hamburgers, Chips, Drinks, Popcorn, Slush, Ice Cream
  • 5th Annual Greg Lucey Basketball Tournament

Ward 6

9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Activities are at Trafton Park and include:

  • Amusements
  • Competitive races
  • Running road race
  • Contests
  • Pony rides
  • Free food

Ward 8

8:45 a.m. to 12 p.m. Activities are at Linden Park and include:

  • Competitive races
  • Basketball shootout
  • Egg toss
  • Bike and Doll Carriage Decorating Contest
  • Best of Linden Pet Show
  • Raffles
  • Moon bounce, waterslide and giant hamster balls
  • Free food

According to Malden's official city website, activities for other wards were still being determined.

Weather for Malden is supposed to be partly cloudy with a high temperature of 88 degrees. It's still a good idea to wear sunscreen even if there's cloud cover since all of these activities are outside.

Humidity will be high at 60 percent, so it's important people stay hydrated as they enjoy their Fourth of July.
