Malden Catholic Launching Girls' Division
And the longtime boys-only school is hiring a girls' principal.

Malden Catholic, the private school that has served only boys for quite some time, is looking to open a girls' division as soon as fall 2018.
The school tweeted out a job posting Wednesday afternoon for a girls' principal. The school said in the posting that the major donors, alumni, and administration and falculty "are engaged and in full support of this expansion to the school's mission."

"Malden Catholic will be harkening back to our roots, as for nearly 60 years, Malden Catholic had a successful sister school (Girls Catholic) serving girls in the area into the 1990s," the school said.
The offering says it will now serve single-gender education to nearly 700 students.

MC says it recently finished a $20 million capital campaign and plans a $7.5 million renovation to house the Girls’ Division.
