Super 8: Malden Catholic Loses Nailbiter
The Lancers battled into a second overtime, but couldn't win the opening game of their series against Austin Prep.
MALDEN, MA - A goal 31 seconds into the second overtime sent Malden Catholic to a 2-1 loss to Austin Prep Sunday at Tsongas Center in Lowell.
The Lancers face a 1-0 hole in the best-of-three Super 8 series. The two squads next play either Wednesday or Thursday back at Tsongas Center.
Sean Wrenn scored the lone goal for Malden Catholic (14-4-3).

Louis Finocchiaro scored early in the second overtime for the Cougars (14-4-2), who are just one win away from eliminating Malden Catholic. He also scored the other Austin Prep goal.
