Malden City Council Approves Temporary Location Purchase
City council approved the purchase of 110 Pleasant Street Tuesday.

MALDEN, MA—Malden City Council approve the purchase of a temporary home for City Hall Tuesday.
City Council approved the purchase of the building located at 110 Pleasant St. The building spans 14,000 feet over three floors, and will cost the town $1.88 million to purchase.
Ward 6 Councilman Neil Kinnon said that purchasing the building will give the city flexibility and allow it to control when it moves in and out of the building.

The city will also be renting 17 Pleasant St. for additional departments, incurring a $215,000 cost annually on a three year agreement with one month options.
Malden Strategic Planning Analyst Ron Hogan said that the city should have no problem selling the building once the time comes.
