Malden Dental Owner Agrees To Pay $650k To Resolve Allegations

Dr. Ekaterina Mamulashvili and her practices had been audited for improper billing.

The owner of multiple dental practices in the Greater Boston area, including one in Malden, has agreed to pay $650,000 to the state’s Medicaid program to resolve improper billing allegations, Attorney General Maura Healey announced Thursday.

Mamulashvili counts Malden Dental Management Center, Inc., among her practices, which also include Everett Dental Management Corporation and Sameka Dental Management Corporation in South Boston.

Allegations state that from Feb. 2007-July 2012, Mamulashvili and her practices “improperly and frequently used multiple oral examination codes to bill MassHealth for services received by the same patients on the same day,” according to the release.
