Malden Man Identified as Suspect Fatally Shot by Police in Lynn
BREAKING: A Malden man who was a suspect in a robbery was allegedly shot and killed in Lynn Tuesday morning.

LYNN, MA — A robbery suspect who was shot by police early Tuesday morning in Lynn has been identified as a Malden man, according to Carrie Kimball-Monahan of the Essex County District Attorney's Office. Michael McInnis, 41, of Malden was shot and killed by police on the Lynnway in Lynn.
Authorities say that McInnis had robbed a Gulf gas station at 425 The Lynnway of $150 after a violent struggle during which he threatened to shoot the clerk. Two officers responding to the scene located the suspect, who approached the officers while refusing multiple requests to remove his hands from his pockets.
Kimball Monahan added that at some point, one of the officers discharged his weapon twice, striking him in the upper torso. McInnis was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
