Malden Man Indicted On Child Rape Charges

The Middlesex DA's office announced indictments handed down between Dec. 5 and Jan. 30.

MALDEN, MA — One case with a link to Malden is among the latest round of indictments in Middlesex County. District Attorney Marian Ryan this week announced indictments handed down between Dec. 5 and Jan. 30.

Edwin Mendez, 37, of Malden, was indicted on charges of aggravated rape of a child (four counts), rape of a child by force (two counts) and indecent assault and battery on a person under the age of 14 (two counts). The Assistant District Attorney is Marisa Tagliareni.

Mendez was charged in Everett. Authorities did not release additional information about what led to the charges.
