Malden Man Wins $1 Million

MALDEN, MA — Nothing like a cool million to make your day. That's what Malden resident Rivelino Soares recently found when he won the lottery's 'The Fastest Road To $1 Million Game.'

Soares chose the cash payout, receiving a one-time payment of $650,000 (less tax withholdings.) He's going to use the money to buy a home.

Soares bought the ticket at Pumpsy's Liquor on Highland Ave. The store will get $10,000 for selling the ticket.

There are still 84 $1 million prizes in the lottery's $30 instant game.
