Malden Mayor Makes Obviously Fake April Fools' Day Announcement

C'mon, Christenson - Everyone knows municipal government and interactive, fantasy-based entertainment experiences don't mix.

You have to be even more careful than usual about beliving what you read on the Internet on April 1.

Even though the City of Malden announced plans to implement “’Chose Your Own Adventure,’ city government style” by subletting space in the onetime Sparks apartment store alongside Boda Borg, we advise readers to take that information with seven or eight grains of salt.

A less dubious Boston Globe article from February explains that Boda Borg should, no joke, take over the Pleasant Street building this summer. The company, which originates in Sweden, provides visitors with what it calls a “questing” experience, i.e., live action, group-based puzzle solving in a large-scale jungle gym/haunted house hybrid. It looks a lot less confusing than it sounds.
