Malden Plastic Bag Ban To Take Effect New Year's Day
Checkout bags will no longer be single-use starting Jan. 1.
MALDEN, MA — Single-use plastic bags will be banned in Malden starting Jan. 1, 2020, according to the city. Checkout bags may only be reusable, multi-use bags.
Customers are encouraged to bring their own bags into shops but may also buy a paper or recyclable bag from retailers.
Stop and Shop will sell reusable bags and donate the proceeds to Bread of Life.
