Malden Servicemen and Women Return Home

Malden celebrated the return of three residents last week.

MALDEN, MA – Last week, Malden welcomed home three residents who recently returned from active duty overseas.

Marine Riley Hennessey, Army SPC Specialist Ted Louis-Jacques and Army SPC Specialist Fabienne Myrthil were honored by Mayor Gary Christensen with duel celebrations.

Christensen recognized Hennessey for his service at a ceremony organized by his family and commended him on his fundraising efforts. Hennessey helped organize a recent event through the Junior Aid Association of Malden where donations of protein bars and cough drops were collected and sent to his fellow Marines.

Louis-Jacques and Myrthil visited the mayor after returning from their deployments at Camp Buehring in Kuwait. They shared their experiences and gifted the city an American flag flown in Malden's honor over the camp on August 5, as well as a Certificate of Authenticity and Appreciation.

As a thank you for Malden's support of United States service men and women, the two also presented the mayor with a coin of excellence from the 1060th Transportation Company.
