Malden Shines at the UN
Students from around Malden were recognized during the Model UN Project.

The following is from the Mayor's office:
Mayor Gary Christenson congratulated Forestdale School Social Studies Teacher Matthew Patrie and the 7th grade students who participated in the Model UN Project which took place on March 3rd at Northeastern University. Students from six Malden schools including Malden High, the Salemwood, Ferrway and Beebe Schools, and the Linden STEAM Academy each sent ten students (along with students from other districts) to simulate a United Nations style debate on the topic of food security. Students were paired up and each pair represented a different country. The goal was for students to work together to come up with resolutions to this issue. Students had the opportunity to win several categories of awards based on their presentation. Many Malden students earned awards for their efforts, including Jessica Gavin and Vanessa Ardai who took Forestdale top honors for the Best Delegation!
