Salem Man, 23, Killed In Malden Shooting

No one has been charged in the shooting, which took place at Bowdoin Apartments.

MALDEN, MA — A 23-year-old Salem man was killed in a Saturday evening shooting at Bowdoin Apartments, authorities said.

The shooting occurred around 6:18 p.m., according to Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Malden Police Chief Kevin Molis. The victim, identified Sunday as Jeury Batista, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

No one has been charged in the shooting, which authorities said is not believed to be random.
