Malden Sports Roundup: Boys Lax Wins First Game
The Malden High boys lacrosse team finally on its first game on Thursday, beating Lynn English 14-3.

After losing a tough 15-1 game to North Reading on Wednesday, the Malden High boys lacrosse team finally got its first win of the season on Thursday. The Golden Tornadoes traveled to The Manning Bowl in Lynn for the first of two contests with Lynn English, beating them 14-3.
Senior captain Andy Lam led Malden, junior Dan Glynn and sophomore Paul Kiernan led Malden with three goals each.
"The entire team played hard for four quarters and the result was a win," said Malden coach Brenden Maney. "All season long they have played hard for stretches and tonight they put a whole game together and the result was a win."

Fellow captain and senior Alfonse Femino played well on defense along with Dimas Bardales, Pat DiCicco, Anthony Amral and David Matnog.
"The team got after groundballs, stayed out of the penalty box, and played smart as a team," said Maney.

Sophomore Cruz Desrochers rounded out the scoring with two goals and an assist with Dylan Sadowski, Devin Fitzpatrick and Nate Urban each picking up a goal.
Malden will face Lynn again on Monday in a rematch at Pine Banks Park at 3:45 p.m.
Mystic Valley Baseball Wins in Walkoff
The Mystic Valley baseball team beat Greater Lawrence 2-1 on Monday. The game was tied 1 -1 in the bottom of the seventh inning with two outs and the bases loaded when Greg Statho hit a single to drive in the winning run.
Patrick Holden pitched a complete game picking up the win.The Eagles are now 6-5 overall and 4-2 in the Commonwealth Athletic Conference.
