Malden Sports Roundup: Thomas Throws No-hitter for Mystic Valley Softball
Seventh-grader Leah Thomas threw a no-hitter in the Mystic Valley softball team's 17-4 win over Chelsea.

Mystic Valley 7th grade pitcher Leah Thomas threw a no-hitter against Chelsea to lead the Eagles to a 17-4 win at Anderson Field on Wednesday afternoon.
Thomas got all the offense she would need in the first inning when the Eagles scored nine runs on six hits. Marisa Cagno tripled in two runs and Thomas helped her own cause with a two-run single. Leah Brown, Michelle Doherty and Violet Sullivan each had one-run singles in the inning.

In the third inning, the Eagles scored four more times as Rebecca Milley, Leah Thomas and Amanda Valente each came through with RBI singles. The Eagles scored one run in the fourth and finished out with three more in the sixth.
Leah Thomas not only threw a “no no” but she also had two hits and three RBI. The win brings her season record to 3-0.

Mystic Valley Lax Qualifies for Tourney
The Mystic Valley boys lacrosse team qualified for the MIAA tournament on Wednesday with a 15-2 win over Northeast Metropolitan Regional Vocational School. The Eagles are now 8-2 in the Commonwealth Athletic Conference and 10-2 overall.
The Eagles were led offensively by Taylor Roseen (seven goals, assist), Evan Dolber (four goals, two assists), Jonathan Walker (two goals, assist), Kyle Finch (goal, assist), Robby DeSantis (goal) and Nick Krasco (two assists).
The defense was anchored by Zak Hamhoomis, Nick Krasco, Chris Coleman, Ryan Cerrato, Pat Kinnon, and Eric Natale. John Dion had another solid game in net stopping 11 of the 13 shots he faced.
Mystic Valley Baseball Beats Chelsea
Mystic Valley picked up another win by beating Chelsea 6-3 on Wednesday. The Eagles improved to 9-5 overall and 6-2 in the CAC, just one game out of first place. Brian O'Connor went the distance for the Eagles picking up the complete game victory.
