Malden State of the City Address: Watch
Mayor Gary Christenson touched on a number of issues both from the year that was and that is in Malden.

Christenson delivered the address to a few hundred at Anthony's last Tuesday.

The demolition and relocation of City Hall offices were touched on. Malden is eyeing March for the start of the demolition, he said.
Christenson then talked about the opening of the new police station and a downward trend in crime.

Christenson made his way to talking about the city's efforts to make sure everyone has a smoke detector, pointing to the fatal Perkins Street fire which killed an elderly couple.
The mayor also celebrated the population's diversity, which he touted as a strength.
