Man Arrested After Helicopters Swirl Above Malden

Anthony Bova was arrested after a search from Chelsea to Revere.

REVERE, MA — The helicopters hovering over the east side of Malden Thursday afternoon were for a police search of a suspect that started in Chelsea and ended in Revere.

Police responded to a Chelsea address shortly before 10 a.m. for a report of an assault, Chelsea Police Chief Brian Kyes said. The victim said she was assaulted by Anthony Bova, who she knew.

Bova, 47, fled to a Revere was arrested at the Revere Quality Inn by Chelsea, Revere and state police. He faces felony charges.

NBC 10 Boston said Bova has a lengthy criminal record.

Malden police earlier reassured residents on social media that the helicopter did not have to do with anything within the city and that the situation was contained.
