Medford Bakery Moving to Malden

Hoff’s Bakery in Medford is moving to Malden with help from a state program.
The wholesale bakery was one of 18 projects selected by the state’s Economic Assistance Coordinating Council to receive Economic Development Incentive Program tax credits because it’s creating jobs through an investment.
Hoff’s, which started in 1983, has outgrown its 30,000-square-foot space at 1 Brainard Ave. in Medford and is going to invest $19.5 million to purchase and renovate a 100,000-square-foot facility at 35 Green St. in Malden, the former Asahi/America site, according to the state and Malden’s business development officer, Kevin Duffy.
