Meet Malden's Newest Millionaire (Well, Before Taxes)

MALDEN, MA — If you see Fania Antunes Resendes around town, give her a high five. She's the city's newest millionaire (before taxes!)

Resendes recently became the fifth $1 million prize winner in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s $10 Million Diamond Dazzler instant game. She chose the cash option, meaning she gets a one-time payment of $650,000 (less tax withholdings.)

She might not have sucked all the luck out of Malden, though. Resendes went to a Peabody convenience store for her winning ticket.

There's still another $1 million prize out there in the $20 instant game.
