Malden High School Holds 2016 Hall Of Fame Gala

Malden High School's Hall of Fame for 2016 nomination forms now available, Banquet and induction ceremonies April 29.

The Malden High School Alumni Association is urging alumni and the Malden community to submit nominations for the third group of graduates to be inducted into the MHS Hall of Fame.

A banquet and induction ceremonies for those to be honored as the Hall of Fame Class for 2016 will be held Friday April 29 at Anthony’s Function Hall in Malden.

Nomination forms are available on the MHSAA website, at the Malden Public Library and the Malden Senior Center, and will also be posted on Malden-related social media sites.

The forms must be submitted by Friday Feb. 26, 2016, by mail to MHSAA, P.O. Box 47, Malden, Ma., 02148, or emailed to Joanne Iovino (’64) at jli4671@yahoo.com, or Diane Lind (’54) at dlind420.@verizon.net.

The purpose of the Hall of Fame is to recognize MHS alumni for exceptional achievement in their chosen careers and/or for their outstanding contributions to the Malden community and beyond.

The special Hall of Fame Selection Committee for 2016 again will be headed up by Ellie Cushing (’71) and Fred Feldman (’67).

To be considered, and to help the selection committee make its decision, all applications must be complete with a brief narrative expanding on the specific qualities and achievements of the nominees.

MHS alumni are eligible to be nominated to the Hall of Fame 10 years after graduation.

This year’s inductees will be selected from the following categories: arts, business, community service, education, government, media, military, sciences, technology, or other.

The Hall of Fame was founded in 2014 by the MHSAA to celebrate exceptional accomplishments of alumni and contributions to the school community by alumni and others.

Hall of Fame - Nomination Form - 2016

For the third consecutive year, the Malden High School Alumni Association is asking for nominations of MHS graduates to the MHSAA Hall of Fame. It is the purpose of the Hall of Fame to recognize Malden High School alumni for exceptional achievement in their chosen careers or for their outstanding contributions to the Malden Community and beyond.

MHS alumni are eligible to be nominated to the Hall of Fame ten years after their graduation. This year’s inductees will be selected from the following categories:

Arts -recognition for outstanding achievement in cultural, visual, or performing arts.

Business - recognition for outstanding accomplishments and/or leadership in the business world.

Community Service - recognition for special contributions to the Malden community and beyond.

Education - recognition for career accomplishments in education, or for contributions to the field of education.

Government - recognition for outstanding service to city, state, or national government.

Media - recognition for outstanding achievement in print or broadcast journalism.

Military Service - recognition for outstanding service in a branch of the armed services.

Sciences - recognition for career accomplishments in a scientific or medical related field.

Technology - recognition for career accomplishments in the creation or application of technical processes for practical purposes.



Inductees to the 2016 MHSAA Hall of Fame will be selected from nominations made by alumni and community members and reviewed by the Hall of Fame Selection Committee.
