MHSAA Holiday Pasta Party Nov. 25

The Malden High School Alumni Association’s third annual Holiday Pasta Party is all set for Saturday Nov. 25, featuring a new Grand Prize 50-50 raffle sure to ring some lucky winner’s chimes.

The event is to raise funds to help MHS students in need.

The festivities will take place 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the Saturday after Thanksgiving at Anthony’s function hall on Canal Street in Malden.

This party is open to all Malden – MHS graduates, students, family and children, friends and members of the community who support the alumni effort to help students who find themselves in difficult financial situations.

The menu will include Anthony’s famous pasta, sauce and meatballs, and other goodies, and the musical entertainment is sure to set the kids a-dancing.

While the usual raffles will be sold during the party for a variety of prizes donated by local establishments – collected and organized by Anna Lombardi, ’54, and Barbara Pelosi, ’54 -- the Grand Prize 50-50 is a new, separate raffle inspired by MHSAA board member David Ladner, ’01. He said the prize could be worth at least $2,500 to the lucky winning ticket holder, depending on sales.

In addition to the Grand Prize, this special raffle also offers a first prize of two tickets to a 2018 Boston Red Sox home game and a second prize of a LCD Flatscreen TV.

Grand Prize raffle tickets are $10 and may be obtained from members of the alumni committee (names boldfaced) or by contacting the alumni office at 781-397-6051.

Under MHSAA President Anthony Dickinson, ’66, the party was organized with the help of vice presidents Patricia Kelly, ’80, and Diane Lind, ’54, with other members of the committee taking care of the myriad of details that make such an event a success.

They include Camille Colantuoni, ’70, Michael Byrne, ’72, Susan Vatalaro, ’67, David and Ethel Haskell, ’54, Kathi Sheridan, ’74, John Froio, ’58, Arlene Ceppetelli, ’70, Carol Scally, ’64, Janet Spiriti, ’64, Rachel Timmons, ’05, Mary Hampton, ’66, and Marguerite Gonsalves.

Adam Weldai, ’05, again will run the popular photo booth, and perhaps Santa will stop by and bring with him those who turned out earlier for Malden’s Parade of Holiday Traditions and tree lighting ceremony.

The Pasta Party tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for students and children under five free. Tickets may be obtained from committee members or by calling the alumni office, and will be sold at the door.
