$1 Million-Winning Malden Man Has Eyes On Hollywood

MALDEN, MA — It's not Mega Millions, but who cares? Certainly not Abdelkader Derkaoui, who became the third winner of the Lottery's $1,000,000 Holiday Bonus instant game.

Derkaoui bought the $5 ticket at Summer Street Fruit in Malden. The store will get $10,000 for its sale.

Derkaoui chose the cash option, receiving a one-time payment of $650,000 (less tax withholdings.) He's going to invest in his retirement, help his family, and travel, he told the Lottery. The first destination? Hollywood, he said.
